Guarantee of health conditions and requirements
(1)- It is the buyer’s responsibility to take the new puppy to the vet within the first 72 hours (3 days) of ownership. AS THE PUPPIES NEW OWNER, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS PUPPY STAYS HEALTHY FROM DAY ONE. We do not guarantee against worms, coccidiosis, giardia or any other parasites that are external or internal.
A. If in the instance that your vet should find anything genetically wrong with this puppy within the first 72 hours, you will need to contact Dogtown Kennels Immediately. We shall then take the puppy to our vet for confirmation at Dogtown Kennels expense. Should there be conflicting reports a 3rd veterinarian will be consulted. The cost of the 3rd veterinarian will be Dogtown Kennels responsibility if it is founded and the buyer’s responsibility if it is not founded. This does not include shipping costs for the pup back to the kennel for the vet visit, or shipping the pup back home to the buyer. When or if a defect is confirmed,, then a new puppy be given. All original paper work will be required. You will be able to keep the puppy if you wish too.
B. I understand that at the time the puppy is acquired, all medical records shall be provided. The Buyer shall maintain the puppy in good condition, including adherence to a regular immunization schedule including the remaining puppy series vaccinations, good diet and exercise.
Dogtown Kennels is NOT responsible for ANY Veterinarian cost and does not refund any monies for any reason.
(2)- We require that Dogtown Kennels puppies be kept on “NuVet Plus Canine” This Nutritional Supplement is for the duration of this guarantee. Although, We encourage you to keep the dog on the vitamins for the duration of the dog's life, to optimize the best health for the dog. If you do not keep your puppy on the supplement for the full 2 years, then this contract will be considered " A Breach of Contract" on the purchaser's part and will no longer be a valid contract. (3)- Should this puppy die within the first year, we require a necropsy (autopsy) to be done on the puppy by a Licensed Veterinarian. The result of the necropsy “must” show that it was a genetic defect, for a replacement puppy to be given..
(4)- I, (the buyer) understand that in the event of a genetic defect or death of a puppy prior to going to their new home, I may have to wait up to one year for a replacement puppy depending on availability of puppies. If the breeding did not take you will receive a puppy from the next littler of choice. Should you decide you want a puppy of a different breed or registration status, you will be required to pay the difference in prices.
Hip Dysplasia Guarantee
In the unlikely event that a Dogtown Kennels puppy is suspected of being dysplastic in its first two years, this procedure needs to be followed:
(1)- Notify Dogtown Kennels by Telephone or Mail or email
(2)- Submit the X-Rays to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, University of Missouri-Columbia MO.
(3)- If OFA finds the dog to be “Dysplastic”, then to qualify for a replacement:
A- The dysplastic dog will be replaced with a puppy of same breed and gender, only after a copy of the official OFA report is sent to us.
Should the buyer not want a replacement pup, there will be NO exchanges made, and the buyer
will be responsible for any corrective surgery.
B- A letter from your Veterinarian stating that your puppy has received all regular check ups,
Along with, copies of all medical records. This must have the vet’s signature, printed
name, complete address and phone number and his/her signature.
C- The dog must have been x-rayed for this condition by its 2nd birthday, but not before 1½ years of age.
(Sometimes an early x-ray will not portray true results during growth spurts). If dysplasia is suspected
prior to their 2nd birthday, please contact Dogtown Kennels immediately
D- The dog is NOT to be over weight, and still be with the original owner.
After these qualifications have been met, you may choose a replacement pup from any of our litters, subject to availability. If you had Limited Registration on the pup, you will receive the same on the new pup.
By signing this contract, I agree to the terms and conditions set forth, within the previous pages. I also understand that this document shall be enforceable in any court of law.
